I am so excited to tell you that
The Patchwork Heart has been nominated in the
in the category of
Best Crochet Blog.
The British Knitting and Crochet awards
are run every year by
and are widely recognised as
the biggest and most important awards in the industry.
This means so much to me !
The fact that I was nominated,
out of all the fabulous blogs out there,
is a huge encouragement to me.
Living with a chronic illness
and having had to retire from a successful career as a teacher,
has seen a new direction in my life.
It has found me filling my time with crochet
and using my teaching skills in another way.
My blog writing and daily posting on
has become my new occupation,
bringing me into daily contact
with wonderful people all round the world.
Sharing daily photographs of my work brings me much pleasure
and at the same time encourages many people to crochet too.
Once a teacher, always a teacher I guess
and I find myself drawn to writing step by step tutorials,
teaching and explaining techniques that I have used,
sharing colour recipes to help people create beautiful items
and enabling people to crochet.
If you have appreciated
my blog posts
step by step tutorials
daily mug shots
quotes of encouragement
tips and advice
please vote for me!
